Curious.  I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Shimano gets its share of lumps for drive trains.  Their brakes and
levers have always been very highly regarded, if perhaps a bit on the
vanilla side of appearance.  Probably easier to get spare parts for
the Shimano than a Sun Tour.
