I would love to know who the buyers were. I’ve had several thoughts:
1. Could be new to Rivendell, and came because the bike shortage caused them to
look elsewhere than in the typical places.

2. Could be what Jason is describing - Rivendell is trending.

3. Could be us - current customers who wanted this bike because it’s so unlike
the other bikes in the garage. Or customers who like to collect Rivendells (I
really hope this isn’t the case. These Platys deserve to be loved, ridden,
somebody’s #1).

I got a lot of messages in my Instagram DMs about the Platypus over the past
several months. From as far away as Japan - people who wanted to know if this
bike would work for them, if the bike would fit them, etc. Lots were women and
several were new to Rivendell. Some were men who were just ready to try the
mixte frame. I think the general consensus is that Rivendells mixtes are better
than most mixtes on the market. Anyway, that’s my small sampling of the
customer pool. I wonder what Riv would say.

Whatever the case, this mixte is a winner. There is magic in the Rivendell
mixtes; the people who own them seem to love them an awful lot. I always think
of Ana PurpleRiv and Pam Murray...getting every last drop of enjoyment out of
their mixtes.
