Rivendell has been swept up into the kind of counter-culture scene of
Crust, Ultradynamico, Radavist etc etc, which has exploded over the past
couple years.  I feel like this has had a pretty big impact too, especially
when there's a fresh new model to get you on the cutting edge of this
'fashion'.  It's my kind of fashion and glad it's getting more popularity,
but production capacity increases lag by something like two years to these
sudden popularity bursts. I see a lot of comments like "Why aren't you guys
ordering more of each size?" on social media from people who don't realize
it is not that simple.  At least all our old bikes are still just as good
as they were before the Hot New Thing came out, in reality!
