Agreed, I find it highly amusing but they have a dilemma. The reality is that they all build a product that with almost no care or attention will last most users a lifetime, which for the big guys doesn't make for much in the way of shareholder value. So we gotta sell ya'll something new.
I think the Rivendell/Grant-esque philosophy is going to be the next *big thing* in the bike industry so hold onto your hats until it passes.
