It's a prototype which was explained in the newsletter but I only included the picture in this thread. The bike has the wrong front brake, production will be v-brakes.
I don't know what predicated 700C, but my wild guess/conspiracy is the 650B wheelset market has been overwhelmed by 27.5 disc and the future for nice rim-brake rims in that size is not looking great. Rim-brake 700C road and touring bikes are still prevalent so maybe this is an anticipatory move.
