surprised and amused by the XO cult. I owned an XO-1, and IMO it's principal
contributions were, (1) it alerted me to the possibilities of 26" wheels for
road bikes and, (2) it introduced me to Grant-designed frames, of which,
now, I have owned four. But IMO, at least compared to Riv's later offerings,
559, 584 or 622, the XOs -- including my 1992 XO-1 -- have been far, far
FAR -- how can I emphasize this enough? -- surpassed by later Riv
offerings. My new (!!) Sam Hill is a far, far FAR better allrounder than
that XO-1, in tire clearance, handling, fit, comfort, quality, younameit.
