Regardless of the cause, though, the grinding gave me an excuse to dismantle and reinstall every component on the bike over the past couple months which I have always wanted to learn to do. Fortunately having the bike co-op close made that easy and provided guidance when YouTube videos didn't suffice. Makes me want to try building up a new (old) frame in the near future...
