I finished the build late last night. The last thing to do was the
shifters. I taped and shellacked the bars before putting the barcons
in, and twined the housing to the drops externally. Now I can pull
the shifters, cables and housing without disrupting the tape job.
First time for me to do that.

Notable details (in my opinion):

I dig the black Suntour power ratchet shifters.
I used Campagnolo shift housing and downtube cable stops. I think the
little ratchet wing adjuster thing on the right side Shimano one is
goofy when you are running friction shifters.
Black+Silver Paul touring cantilevers. I bought one caliper of each
and swapped arms between them.

I'm sure some of you will think of this look as 'not your cup of
tea'. The Bombadil is a serene, woodsy, undercycling trail bike.
This orange and red thing is kind of a kandy kolored klown circus
bike. I get that, and I promise not to be offended. I dig the look.
I think when I put some Quasi-motos on there it'll be much more
serious looking. I have a huge softspot for orange bikes. My 1993
XO-1 for a time had those RED Ritchey Z-max WCS tires (26x1.40). So,
this color scheme is a harkening back to my youth in a way. I really
like looking at it.
