My other bikes being fixed, I obviously stand to climb a lot more, but learned that is a tricky proposition on steep climbs (which of course is where it is most needed) because it unweights the rear wheel). So I learned to sit until I needed to stand, and then, if possible, just stand enough to get the aid of the weight while keeping some on the rear wheel. That's with gear inches of 40-57" on singletrack. With Boot, however, it's "Wow. Did I really just ride that section I and most everyone I see or ride with usually have to walk?"
