There are some (randonneurs) who find the lack of re-routing if you get off 
course to be a feature, not a bug. 

If you’re riding a brevet, it’s against the rules to ride anything but the 
official route. For randonneuring, you want a computer that has only the 
official route and seeks to have you return to it.

Wayfinding on the fly with the Elemnt is, IMHO, better than the Garmin. You 
basically have access to the same search functions as the Maps app on your 
smart phone. Want to find a local coffee shop? Find it on your phone, map it 
with the Wahoo app, and upload it to the computer. Way easier than the finicky 
data entry on the Garmin (at least, the 800 series, which is what I still have 
on my travel bike).
