It sounds like an idyllic family vacation, well, apart from the
cluelessness on the bike path. See below for an effective remedy.

I've never ridden a Clem, but based on the 5 other Rivs I've ridden, just
perhaps you could try to convince your husband to get a nice electric wheel
or other conversion system -- Joe Bernard of this list is an expert on
this, I think. Sad to think of a Clem going south because it lacks electric
assist.

For a while, when I commuted across town, I used one of these pump 'n' fill
air horns; I found them useful for the spaced-out on bike paths; alas, not
so much for SUV drivers hermetically sealed in their vehicles with AC and
stereo on Full, so I gave up on it. But if you are walking in open air, it
will wake you up very quickly. Of course, the principal benefit of such an
air horn is for the user; there are kinder, more gentle ways to nudge
clueless pedestrians.
