I got the impression that "AV's" opening email was positive and motivated by interest in and concern for Rivendell. Unfortunately, such threads usually decline into squabbling. For my part, I read G's post with concern; I'd like to see Riv survive. I don't have ideas about how to make it financially stable, and my own needs won't particularly help Rivendell -- I don't use a lot of cables, and I can't afford a new custom (though I can think about one ... hmmm -- but would they build it? Probably not.). And I'm certainly not going to try Monday morning quarterbacking.
I think that such threads are good ones if they remain civil and thoughtful; if not, kill them dead, and I am serious about that.
