iamkeith, my logic (such as it is) is this: if the big boys through their marketing and educational might into everyday, practical riding, that market would grow, thus the demand for cycling infrastructure would grow (it already is in a number of places, so some seem on a tipping point. Salida, CO is one example). You are spot on, we have a wondrous assortment of practical bikes in the niche markets and what a blessing that is!
