Note that this does not hold at all for goathead punctures; your EL fattie will get far, far, *far* more holes than your Kojak, and even the Kojak will need frequent weekly patching.
Even 23 mm skinnies like the Conti GP and the Mich Pro Race got fewer thorn flats than the Elk Pass or Parigi Roubaix or F Fred or Big One, if you leave the sealant out; these last all have thinner casings even than those racing tires.
