I have the Tektro/Silver (Riv branded and shinier version) 559s on 3 bikes and they work fine for me. I use either Kool-Stop or Aztec pads which grip better than the stock items. I had Paul Racers on a Saluki and did not like them. I now have my first centerpulls (Mafac) and so far really like them. Also with Kool-stop pads.
