As always, thanks for all of the complements on this bike build.

So yes, the Silver bar-end shifters are a little "unusual".  SRAM's
standard answer is that their 10-speed drivetrains will only work with
their bar-ends or Double-Tap systems.  Likewise, the Silvers are not
compatible with some of the SRAM MTB derailleurs.  We took a little
chance on the Silvers bar-ends and they work fine.  (The rear shifter
takes the full range of motion to get the chain into the biggest rear
cog, but the built-in RD barrel adjuster will take care of any
eventual slack.)

The first upgrade to this bike will be replacing the V-brakes.
Therefore, the Cane Creek SCR-5 levers work fine for now, and will
work great when the bike gets some long reach calipers or classy canti
brakes.
