Thanks for the recommendations! I hadn't even thought about a bike on this 
trip, just didn't realize Austin was so bike friendly and there were trails 
right out of downtown. Had I known, I would've tried to bring a bike with 
me. 
I did get a B-cycle 3-day pass, which was a reasonable $18. The bikes 
themselves took a bit to adjust to, but ended up being alright getting me 
around. They don't seem to be consistently maintained though. At a docking 
station, I'd have to check tire pressures to select a bike as most had too 
low pressure to be safely ridden imo.
I explored downtown and East Austin a bit by bike and did a loop of Lady 
Bird Lake. The heat wasn't something I was used to, so I got in less rides 
than I wanted, but it was fun. 
Austin is definitely now on my list of places to visit with a bike in tow.
