Hi Nathan, Glad you isolated the problem... one note on the grip kings: I found I needed to retighten the bolts that hold the rounded, outer textured portions to the central H part of the body body. I had one come loose and drop right out after only a couple short rides after first receiving them. Luckily it happened right at the start of a ride as the front of the pedal shifted/rotated under weight while mounting it with only the one side still bolted. A quick stop and inspection revealed the bolt was missing and fortunately there it was on the pavement just a few yards back where the ride began. I reinstalled with a multi tool and tightened the other 3 bolts which all needed some snugging and continued my ride. I later checked a second pair which also seemed to need tightening and experienced some of those bolt/thread tightening clicks in the process so I eventually removed all the bolts, regreased, and reinstalled on both pairs of pedals.
