I purchased a Hennessy Hammock after witnessing Pondero's setup. I had
doubts about sleeping in a hammock that might force me to sleep in a U
shape but the Hennessy mitigates this with its asymmetrical design and I
add a thermarest pad as an insulating base that seems to help as well. I
like being cool when I sleep, but I've been surprised to find that I prefer
the insulation for all but the hottest weather (in the mid-atlantic US).

If you don't have a Hennessy but your hammock is wide enough for you to get
a bit diagonal in it so that your head and toes point off-center from your
anchor points you may find that you can sleep a bit flatter. My task for my
next night out in the Hennessy is to sort out how to set it up on the
ground if I ever find myself without appropriate trees.
