Not concerned about the weight, but I do prefer side / center pull brakes unless I want more clearance than they provide. It would make me sad if all future Roadeo Roadini and AHH frames were canti / v brake only. Sams have gone back and forth a few times. With the new MIT AHH bringing that models price point down a bunch, going back to canti Sams makes sense to me.
