another idea is get a threaded->threadless stem  adapter for $16. Put
on multiple different length threadless stems which should be VERY
cheap in your LBS recycling bin off of the thousands of bad mountain
bikes out there. Then once you find the size you want, buy a nice
nitto in that size.
