Great thread all! Congrats to all of you that have found success. I am found the same success a couple of years ago with this method as well. I was gaining weight and not feeling my best with a bunch of small kids to take care of. In addition, I have an auto immune gut issue that was flaring on and off for almost 16 years.
I decided to do a modified Paleo diet eliminating gluten, grains, and refined sugars. It has done wonders for my life. I am back to my old college hockey playing weight, have tons of energy, and feel great. My gut has been in good condition throughout as well. I cheat and have some bread once a week (a slice of homemade stuff) and that is about it. When I travel and get off track I really feel it. It is amazing how much your body can tolerate, abuse wise, through diet. All of your stories about high weight, A1C, etc really speak on that. We are all so used to feeling terrible from our modern diets that we don't even know what healthy feels like anymore. Grant's book is great and while I have a different variation of it, it speaks much truth.
