Hi Patrick,

I have been riding with the Zoics and the Outdoor Research Ferrosi 3/4
pants for 2 summers, switching between the two about every week or so.

With regard to the Zoics, I haven't had stitching come undone on the rear
pockets, but the stitching on the seam on the seat of the pants has come
loose in several spots. The rear seam isn't splitting apart by any means--
I think the stitching just holds it down. I'm not a tailor so I don't know
how to describe it, so I've attached a pic. Sorry for the low quality.

One thing that I haven't liked about the velcro/drawstring combo is that
the strings become have mangled in the velcro during washing several times.
Now they're not exactly frayed, but there are a lot of stray fibers all
over the strings from being pulled out of the velcro. Doesn't affect
functionality, just looks.

If I had to buy one of the two again, I'd go for the OR. They're lighter,
slimmer cut, and don't have big cargo pockets on the legs. Like Shoji, I
never use the cargo pockets. For me it is because I don't like stuff
bouncing around there when I'm pedaling.
