mmfs,

My Luxo U after repairing the thin, shattered plastic shell and mount. (I
didn't abuse my Luxo, a small crack at the mount exploded the shell). I
used ABS and a heat gun to beef up and repair, while also making the mount
hole a solid piece of ABS. One of the tabs for the wiring broke off too, so
I took the light apart and soldered a new tab made from a hacksaw blade. I
also added a small piece of foam on the interior of the shell to lock the
battery into place. Will I buy another Luxo U? No. I have used this for
a few years now and won't replace it with a more durable option until the
next irritating failure due to the high costs of a quality light and
auxiliary phone charger. 'Spensive.
