Cliffhangers! Anything else is too civilized. It's been said already that
they're great for rim brakes, and yes they're heavier than skinnier rims,
putting plenty of thick brake track under those brakes for a long life, but
their best attribute is in running bigger tires at lower pressures comfortably.
It makes tubeless options the easy choice, not having to worry about higher
pressures blowing out all your precious sealant. With Cliffhangers, I'm able to
control my bike at pressures as low as 10 psi using 2.35 tires. If I do flat,
all it takes is a quick pump to 10 lbs, a little squishy rolling to secure the
patching sealant, and then I'm back to my 20-25 psi sweet spot. It's been a
total game changer for commuting in and around NYC, and I owe it all to
cliffhangers. And I don't think I need to mention that big tires are fast
around here, but yes, they are fast, or can be all that, with cliffhangers!
