Sure. The only problem you’ll have is getting the wiring back to the light.

There are a few ways to do it—the cleanest of which is to run the wiring inside
the rolled rim of a metal fender. Unfortunately, Honjo fenders (and plastic
fenders) don’t have a rolled edge that’s big enough to accept a wire—you’ll
need to find some Berthoud fenders, which are made to do this.

You can run the wiring on the underside of the fender and fasten it in place
with glue or very sticky tape … if you have clearance between the fender and
tire. I have some super-sticky adhesive aluminum tape that works quite well, or
you can use any quality vinyl tape (3M Trim and Seal is my favorite in
situations where I don’t use the aluminum tape).

Finally, you can run the wiring along the chainstay and they out the fender
stay. I had a 1970s Raleigh Superbe that ran the wiring this way.

Having a dyne-powered taillight on the fender is great—it’s highly visible and
runs forever, and it makes the bike look more “put together” than a
battery-powered light on the fender or elsewhere.
