I concur that you should make the jaunt to RBW and do test rides.  First, 
it would be awesome, well worth the trip to see the shop in person, and 
actually talk the people who will be building your bike.  Second, and more 
importantly, riding and getting a sense of what works best for you.  I had 
to order my bikes blind due to geographic location.  I'm very pleased with 
them but may have decided differently if I had the opportunity to do some 
test rides.

That said, I can see where your heart is leaning.  The black tuxedo Sam's 
are sharp and I don't blame holding out for one.
