Both Blue and Orange Sams are in my area of experience with this, and with those iterations I have an answer for you:
Big Ben 700x50 is the limit of what can fit. Just barely fits. I know from experience and riding it. The actual width of this particular tire is about 45 mm. I’ve also used Soma Cazadero tires on the Blue Sam, and it fits just fine. So when I replace the Barlow Passes on my Sam, I’m going with Snoqualmie Pass, which is 700x44. I have full confidence it will fit.
