I agree with Brian on not drilling, and on Shoe Goo. I've glued dynamo wires up the fork leg and down the down tube with Shoe Goo, and it works great. I recommend holding the wire in place with string, twine, or zip ties until the Goo dries.
Excess Goo can be pilled with your fingertips, and doesn't seem to leave any residue on the paint.
