Sometimes appearances can be misleading.......when it comes to the
"homeless", which by the way, could happen to anyone who is now
gainfully employed or otherwise financially secure. Sorry but I just
don't think it is right to judge someone by their outward appearance.
Please lets not look down our noses because we can now afford lugged
steel rides , wear expensive wool and sip latte's outside our favorite
coffee hang out. Forgive me but its late and the direction of the
thread just struck a wrong chord with me.
As to riding a fine steel bike.....its a joy and I own several. I
haven't purchased a Riv just yet but I do support them and buy from
them because I believe in what Grant and others like him are doing in
the world of bicycles. I finally came to conclusion that if I am
mentally imprisoned by owning a bike for fear of it being stolen then
I have the problem and its not the material item. Its very nice to
own and use well made beautiful things but its not good for us as
human beings to put things above people and that includes our mindset
as well. I say, ride whatever you want and be happy.
