i would have zero hesitation to go check out that cheviot. the issue with pricing is the same one that is in the OP. If he sells it for near the same price of a new bike from Rivendell, most people will just get the new one. you have to discount a reasonable amount on any used thing, even if it is barely used. then factor in how fast he wants it gone and you have a pretty good deal. there have been much crazier deals. that quickbeam someone sold for like 500$ complete last month is still haunting me.
