Hey Folks: I'm a pretty inexperienced wrench compared to most folks here, so I thought I would float this question to the group. If the solution is a simple one, please take it easy on me!
I bought some new Ultegra bar ends off a list-member several months back with the intention of replacing the older ones I've had on my Sam since '09. I swapped my Albatross setup (and older shifters) over to my wife's Trek 613 a couple of weeks ago, and just this weekend got around to re-assembling my Sam with a new Albastache cockpit. I pulled the Ultegra shifters out of my bin, installed them on the bars, and ran cables. Much to my chagrin, when testing things out, I realized that the left-hand (front) shifter only has enough pull to swap between the granny and middle ring on my Sugino xd2 crankset. It comes to a hard stop and won't pull any more cable. My questions for you are: Is there a version of this shifter that only works for two rings up front? Or did I screw up something on install?
