Masmojo (I wish people would sign their names. What is your name?): When was this, and what tires and rims were fashionable then? Farmer Johns or later?
Very early '90s: skinny as possible rims; my Sun M14As measure 19 mm outside to outside, and they make very excellent road rims (370 grams!! and indestructible) for my '99 and '03 Rivendell Road Customs, shod with ultra light Compass Elk Pass tires. But I successfully used these rims with 1.95s with no problems; you just had to keep the pressure above super soft levels.
