The simple answer Riv will give is that their touring bikes in that price range are the Atlantis and Hunqapillar, with the new-ish Appaloosa a step down in price. I can't give a review of a loaded AHH but I've owned one, and now have an Appaloosa. They both ride great, with that mysterious "spring" every Riv I've owned (a lot of them) has.
