It is really flat there so I just left it in the big ring and when I needed to change gears I just changed the cassette cogs. I think I only needed 3 or 4 gears, tops, while I was there. Really flat. Up here in central Maryland I definitely use all three rings. Mostly the middle 36T ring. Rolling terrain.
