John,

Thanks for the thought, but I'm not sure that will work in my case. The
more I think through the logistics, the less likely it appears I'll be able
to do this. The German Shepherd in the back seat prevents putting it in
the cab. The fifth wheel hitch in the middle of the truck bed prevents
laying it lengthwise. To close the rolling lock cover with the bike
oriented across the bed (just tried with the AWOL), I would need to remove
the front wheel and maybe the fender. (I guess I could put the fenders on
later.) If I wanted to get in a few short test rides to have any tweaks
made, prepping it for long distance transport isn't really a match. A
receiver hitch bike rack would hold it, but I'm not sure I want to expose
it to all of the road grime getting home. I could possibly put a cover
over it on the rack, but then I wonder if it would be sufficiently secure.
Though I would like to visit RBW to get it, it might be simpler overall if
I just ship it. If I could devise secure, covered, receiver hitch rack
storage, that may work behind both the truck and the fifth wheel, but I
have yet to investigate that possibility. I guess I should take a look at
that.

Thanks.

Tim
