Aha, I see the trail -- the route seems less "fraught" than that encircling Rampart Reservoir. (To all the others: Deacon took me on a circuit of Rampart Reservoir last August, where I spent all my time afraid of falling off the edge into the water, picking my way anxiously through boulders, and trying not to fall down in muddy crossings. I did fall once, in the direction of the dropoff, but fortunately intervening boulders caught me and the Fargo and kept me on the level. My bar tape still shows the trauma.
I may have to drive up to C Springs at the very beginning of August to pick up my daughter from the Rocky Mountain Orthodox Youth Camp and, if circumstances permit staying a day or two, I will very definitely look you up.
