I'm sure Roman knows more than me about the Pauls but it seems odd that you
would have to deflate Barlows. I have Tektro long reach side pulls on my Hilsen
with Barlow Pass and don't have that issue. I know it doesn't seem like a big
deal now but it might become annoying later on to have to only put on a flat
tire. Even with my frame pump, I find that it's easier to inflate the tire off
the bike rather than on the bike. I would double check those center pulls. I
have Compass center pulls on my new MAP 650B and I can remove my 42mm Babyshoe
Pass tires fully inflated. They are only $30 more than the Pauls. You might
want to look into that, Tim. If anyone knows why the Pauls won't accommodate
the Barlows fully inflated can you maybe enlighten me? This MAP is my first
foray into center pulls, so I really know next to nothing about them. But mine
sure did squeal like a Banshee until they were broken in a few hundred miles...
