Thanks; I looked up the Dell and it is affordable.

A couple of questions about this:

1. "IPS" monitor: is this technology necessary when all you are doing is
fancy word processing in Word?

2. With a 24" or larger monitor, I assume I could get away with 1 and have
up to 4 windows open on it? That is, you can open 4 and manipulate them
separately? (I plan to use the Mac screen as the work screen and the
monitor screens as the reference screens.)

One problem is that I'd rather not use a 2nd pair of "intermediate" glasses
(1st pair being my reading glasses) so Iike my windows big.

Last and different question: I've seen some of the newer HD Mac screens (my
Pro is 2010), and am I right in thinking that a smaller (say 13") but
higher definition screen will be as easy to see as a larger but lower
definition screen? Again, MS Word.

Thanks.
