I second that comment.  When I first got my Brooks, I slid around
quite a bit on it, both from the recommended coat of Proofide and the
unoptimized saddle tilt adjustment.  I was almost ready to call it
quits when I read about how saddle tilt angles are very important for
Brooks saddles, so I spent a bit of time adjusting it by small
increments.  It's actually quite magical once the correct angle is set
for one's bum and when the saddle is more or less broken in - the
saddle disappears underneath.  But you're right.  Everyone's anatomy
is a bit different so this may not have worked for you.

Thanks for the Berthoud saddle review!  It's definitely a pretty
saddle.  That thick leather do inspire confidence of durability and
quality.
