I don't think anybody hates Marathons. My buddy is the total city tire buyer/rider - all but one of his bikes have heavy tread and reflective sidewall stripes. (he has GP4000S on his Mercian.) I feel sorry for his wife with the 800g Michelin Proteks on her Afline upright mixte. She doesn't ride enough to warrant them, and I think she would enjoy the bike a lot more and probably ride more often with more responsive cushy tires. He has 35mm Marathons on his Tournado, and they roll extremely well.
I ride all cushy tires and I carry a fold-up tire on every bike. I've had 5 flats in as long as I can remember, and one of my buddy's new city tires flatted a few weeks ago. What has surprised me are the Barlow ELs - they're holding up really well, and have proved a lot tougher than the Strada Biancas I was riding before. . -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
