I have a new pair of new long orange pads on my Trek, but found they crowded the tire removal because they bumped up against the fork when opened. I swapped them out for a shorter black pair from a TeKtro and was not happy with the braking. So, I wonder, how much of the difference is the length and how much is the compound? I assume the carriers are different but haven't looked closely at that.
