The aspen are still spectacular AND my brain was doing well enough to head out with the whole family. My wife hiked in with the two littles to play in a creek and the two older lassies rode with me over hill and through dale and creeks and aspen.
Wow, is it fantastic being out with family, the breeze sending cascading gold all round with the dusty autumn loam scents filling the air. Sun played hide and seek and as my eldest pointed out it just had to come out when we were in LCG up the steep! Grin. Not much direct Rivendell content, but I rode my Hunqapillar and it makes this possible.
