Hey cyclotourist - and all

Sorry to come in late on this.  Velocity replaced my rear rim.  

The first time I saw it seemed to be an electrolysis issue which is how I 
descibed it to them. They no longer use that particular material on newer 
rims.  The original set were Aeroheads made in Australia.  They have 
replaced quite a few evidently.  They were quite nice about it.  They even 
offered to re-lace the wheel for me, but I was in a hurry at the time.

Interesting theory about tube valves though. ;)
