That's good to know. I think the wider measurements were coming from wider 
rims. 
Are you using the regular or extralight version?
I have clearance (minimal, less than ideal) for Vee Rubber Speedsters on my 
Redwood, which measure 47mm for me. I might need to wear them out first 
(which should take a while as the tread is fairly thick) before I try out a 
pair of Switchbacks.
Even better, though unlikely - any listers in Chicago have these and would 
let me mount one up on my rear wheel to see if they'll fit?
