I'm curious about the delicacy of Wald baskets. I don't have years' long
experience with them*, but I have used many different models for enough
miles to get to know them, including the giant Newsboy, and, mounted sans
rack and with just the included hardware, it seemed pretty damned strong --
hard to see how anything could bust it.

What the heck do y'all carry in your Walds? Is the problem lack of
perimeter support, ie, support only in the center of the basket by a narrow
rack? Why not use the included struts?

What about the garden variety milk crate on a porteur rack?

* Because I found bags of various sorts more convenient and switched after
no more than 12 months.
