One way to deal with peak loads is rentals or delivery. Those seem expensive when you already own a car, but are way cheaper than owning a car if you consider capital and maintenance costs, not to mention your own time to manage it.
This answer does depend in part on where you live and the availability of such things. I am lucky that I live close to zipcar and vans, making continuing to live without a car easy, partly because when I need one to haul lumber or other peak uses I just rent it. I do think the on demand rental economy made easier with online devices makes this kind of transaction way easier, and it will continue to spread and get easier. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
