Basically tt length on its own doesn't tell the whole story - the place 
where your bum will be is also governed by seat tube angle, saddle height 
and other things (and other factors incl stem length, hbar type, head tube 
angle, hbar height govern hand position). You could have a bike with a 
short tt that still has you reaching too far. I also have a funny 
dimensions thing going on (6ft with 94cm pbh - i.e. shorter top half of the 
body than average which means I'd be reaching too far on a frame sized by 
pbh according to Riv fit principles) which makes me think it would be more 
appropriate to size by tt length but I always bear the top tube 
ruse article in mind.

Not that I'm trying to throw spanners in the works here - as I said, just 
surprised no one else has brought this up.
