The decal on my seat tube is cracking and peeling off as well. Been doing that for a long time. Recently I noticed a little of the paint coming off where the decal used to be. About two days later I realized what's causing it. When I come home the bike comes indoors and gets hung up on the wall by the rear wheel. Always the same way. And I always pick it up by the seat tube with my left hand. It's the wedding ring. As I lift the bike and the tube moves in my hand my wedding ring scratches right across that decal. I don't know if this sort of thing is happening to you but could be.
