We used them on our Vienna to Linz to Prague segment a couple of years ago. They delivered the bikes to our hotel in Vienna, with the maps, and we dropped them off at another hotel in Prague. You might be able to work out some similar service between your 2 points. We rented Scott hybrids for around 20-25 euro per day per bike (IIRC) and they were fine for our purposes. No mechanicals, not even a flat in several hundred kilometers. Decent rear rack. We brought our own panniers. While I haven't looked into it myself, I've heard that in Europe larger bike shops take trades, etc., & do a decent business in used bikes.
